Full Description:

RENT ASSISTANCE THROUGH WINTER SHELTER -Winter Shelter funding begins November 1. Some rent assistance may be available May-September through National Food Shelter Program. Emergency shelter for families with children under the age of 18 in crisis. May provide small amount toward prescription (no narcotics) with an agency verification & referral. Also has a limited eyeglass program providing exams and glasses. Can fill existing eyeglass prescriptions if less than two years old.  One way LD bus tickets on a limited basis. Has special programs throughout the year including school supplies, Thanksgiving food baskets and holiday programs. Additional Info: Depending on availability may help w/soap; toiletries, toothpaste, children\'s Tylenol, aspirin, cough syrup, lice treatment medication, toilet paper, diapers, baby formula, & feminine protection products.

Call for information from Mondays through Fridays 9am - 4pm.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
