Financial Help Provided: Prescription Assistance




Full Description:

With funding from the Filling in Gaps (FIGs) program, Urban Ministries is able to help more than 500 people each year obtain prescription medications that are beyond their financial reach. Urban Ministries of Wake County also has one of the only free on-site pharmacies in our county to provide prescription assistance to at no charge to clients of the Open Door Clinic.

NO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR ANY BILLS. Also offers prescriptions, employment assistance, and a food pantry for families in need. Serves as a resource for referrals to other human service agencies in the county. Additional requirements for food: For emergency food, client must have Wake County ID and ID for everyone in the household such as birth certificate, social security card or Medicaid card. Client can receive food every 90 days. Every 30 days, clients are eligible for a food referral to another pantry within Wake County. Office hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Tips For Prompt And Professional Assistance
1. Make an appointment - Always attempt to make an appointment. Oftentimes this will save you hours waiting in lines. When on the phone make sure you ask for the documentation needed in order to receive assistance.

2. Do not be late for your appointment - This tip should speak for itself.

3. Dress appropriately - If you want to be treated with respect, dress as appropriately as possible. We are not saying wear a suit. Just make sure you and your clothes are clean and non offensive. We have found that clients who dress in this manner have a better chance of receiving aid.

4. Bring all pre determined documentation - Bring all of the documents you were advised to bring from your appointment phone call. Without them, you will not receive aid.
