There are numerous programs that make up the Public Assistance Division of Yuba County Health and Human Services Department (YCHHSD). Services provided by these programs can include monetary assistance, assistance with food, and medical coverage. Families or individuals in need of services must complete and submit an application. The Department's Public Assistance Eligibility staff reviews the application during a telephone, mail-in, or a face-to-face interview.
The County Medical Services Program (CMSP) is a program which provides for the medical and dental needs of medically indigent adults. Yuba County is one of 34 counties in California which provides this service.
The CalFresh program, formerly known as Food Stamps and federally known as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), provides income eligible households with an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card which enables individuals to provide a healthy diet for themselves and their family.
Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid health care program, providing no-cost or low-cost health insurance for California residents with limited income and resources. Individuals may be automatically eligibility for Medi-Cal benefits if they receive cash assistance from SSI/SSP, CalWORKs, Foster Care or the Adoption Assistance Program.
General Assistance is a loan/repayment program for individuals with pending SSI/SSP applications or for adults without resources or other means of support.
C4Yourself is an online application that allows you to apply for CalWORKs, CalFresh and Medical benefits. The C4Yourself website can be accessed from any computer that is connected to the Internet. This means that you can complete and submit your application in the privacy of your own home, a friend's home, at the library, at the kiosk in the County Office lobby, at a community center, or the coffee shop. You can complete your application at any time of the day that is convenient for you. This secure website will send your application directly to the county for processing. Once you have applied online, you will automatically be given a "My C4Yourself" account on www.C4Yourself.com. With this account, you can get the status of your application; pending, approved, denied. Simply log onto the C4Yourself website at C4Yourself.com.
